The NHL playoffs are in full swing. While I love watching playoff hockey, the games have got me up late at night wanting to pull my hair out! If you're a sports fan and loyal to a particular team, I'm sure you know the feeling. But as the NHL 2017-2018 season winds down, I've been reminiscing about my recent road trip through Canada following my favorite team.

Growing up in a hockey family in the suburbs of Washington DC, I had no choice but to be a Washington Capitals fan. I've worn jerseys, gone to games and watched the Caps on TV for my entire life. No Christmas in my family is complete without gifting some Caps gear.

So when my brother came up with the idea to follow the team during their multi-game run in Canada, I was definitely in. This was a different travel theme than I'm used to, but I liked the idea of doing something out of the ordinary .

There were three games over four days in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, but we extended the trip to seven days (including travel days) in order to fit in some tourism.

Day 1: Fly to Vancouver

I worked a full day in Washington, D.C. and left in the early evening to fly to Vancouver. My dad and brother had flown in earlier that day and I met them at our Air BnB in the Fairview neighborhood downtown. We were very happy with our spacious Air Bnb and its central location near the hockey arena.

Day 2: Stanley Park & Caps vs. Canucks

We spent the day wandering the city and walking many miles around Stanley Park. We followed along the seawall to the Lion's Gate Bridge and then strolled around Beaver Lake (its more of a marsh and definitely not a must-see). At this time in October, the leaves were changing and the park was beautiful.

That evening, the Caps played the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place. They didn't play their best game and suffered a bad loss (6-2.. ouch!), but it didn't ruin our night. We were happy to watch hockey in a new location with some surprisingly pleasant (and a few very drunk) fans.

Day 3: Granville Island & Sea Plane Tour

With no hockey game, we had the full day to see Vancouver. We spent the morning at Granville Island Market and stayed for lunch. We did a little shopping and bought some souvenir chocolates to bring home to my mom. I highly recommend grabbing lunch at the market. There is something for everyone. I got a Montreal-style spinach bagel from Siegel's Bagels. So good and unlike any other bagel I've had!

For the afternoon, we booked a seaplane tour with Seair Seaplanes. Both my dad and brother have pilot experience but had never been in a seaplane. On my first visit to Vancouver the previous year, I flew in on a seaplane from Victoria and loved it.

We chose the 30-minute Vancouver City Skyline Tour in a six-seater Dehavilland Beaver. The benefit of flying with Seair instead of HarborAir is they fly small propeller planes (but maybe not a benefit if you have a fear of flying). The tour gave great views of the North Shore Mountains and circled us over Stanley Park, Howe Sound, and downtown. We even flew right over Rogers Arena where we had watched the game the previous night.

After the flight, we stopped at Cartem's Doughnuts for a treat. If you go, get the honey parmesan doughnut. It sounds weird, but it's delicious! Trust me.

Day 4: Edmonton & Caps vs. Oilers

This morning, we flew Air Canada from Vancouver to Edmonton and checked in to The Westin Edmonton. It was a cold, grey day with snow flurries in the air and to be honest, the city wasn't very impressive. Very few people were seen in town and many restaurants were closed. We joked about calling it "Deadmonton" and found out later that the locals sometimes use that nickname too.

That evening, we grabbed dinner at Craft Beer Market before the game. Caps played the Oilers at the new Rogers Place. Although Edmonton seemed deserted that day, the arena was packed at night. The people in Alberta sure love their hockey! Luckily, the lines to enter the area were inside so we didn't have to wait in the cold (unlike DC).

The Capitals came from behind to win 5-2 and the Edmonton fans were a lot of fun. We even met quite a few Canadian Ovechkin fans that drove in to see him play.

If you're a hockey fan, you might know about the 50/50 raffles at the games. Well, this night the total jackpot was over $165,000! That's over ten times more than the average at Caps games. And unfortunately, I didn't win but at least the Caps did!

Day 5: Calgary & Caps vs. Flames

We picked up a rental car in Edmonton and got on the road to Calgary for another game that night. On the road, we stopped for breakfast at Tim Hortons because, you know, Canada.

Tim Hortons Oilers Donut
The Caps took a bite out of the Oilers in Edmonton, so I did too.
The drive from Edmonton to Calgary was pretty easy and took less than three hours. When we arrived in Calgary, we checked into the Fairfield Inn & Suites Downtown. It was another dreary day, so we relaxed a bit before dinner at Brown's Social House.

Caps played the Flames that night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. This area definitely showed its age and had an odd layout, but the game was probably the most fun (aside from the loss). It felt a little bit like a semi-pro game in the best way. The songs were fun, the crowd was happy and the Flames Ice Crew even passed out Halloween candy in the stands. Although it was a good time, the Caps gave up the game in the third period and we lost 2-1.

Day 6: Banff

While I love watching hockey, this day was my favorite of the trip! We left Calgary in the morning and drove west to Banff National Park. October in Banff is the off-season for tourists, but the bad part of this was that some roads and access points were closed.

We first drove to the beautiful Lake Louise. The lake and mountain view was incredible. If it wasn't so cold, I could've stayed there for hours. If you haven't been, add Lake Louise to your list of places to see someday!

Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada

We stopped at the Lake Louise Visitors Centers to read more about the area and pick up a map and our free park pass. Then, we hopped on the Icefields Parkway. Every direction you look, you're surrounded by gorgeous snowcapped mountains. I had definitely found my happy place in Banff National Park. We drove along the parkway stopping at almost every lookout point. While we didn't have time for longer hikes (and weren't properly dressed for the freezing temps), we made the most of our visit. And I promised myself that I'd be back for more hiking someday!

Moose Meadow on the Icefields Parkway
We drove the parkway all the way to Downtown Banff to stop for pizza at Bear Street Tavern and check out the shops. After exploring the town, we took a short drive to Bow Falls Viewpoint. And wow! Gorgeous! Right on the edge of town is this beautiful waterfall with turquoise water flowing in front of the most perfect mountain backdrop.

Bow River in Banff
Our final stop in Banff was to check out Surprise Corner and catch the view of the castle-like Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. You can climb up a long set of stairs to a lookout platform for a better view. A view so good that a couple was getting married when we arrived!

Surprise Corner in Banff
Surprise Corner in Banff
Since we had an early flight home the next morning, we went ahead and drove straight to Calgary Airport to drop off the rental car and check into the Marriott Hotel at Calgary Airport. I've never been a fan of airport hotels because I like to maximize my time in the city where I'm visiting, but I think my dad had the right idea when he suggested we stay here. The hotel was located in our terminal so we were able to rest easy and get to our early morning flight within minutes.

Day 7: Fly home from Calgary

As much as I would've loved another day in Banff or Calgary, I took an early morning flight back to DC with a short layover in Chicago.

I enjoyed traveling for a specific purpose - supporting the Washington Capitals - and would love to do something similar to this trip in the future. Maybe following the Capitals through California next season? Or attending the FIFA Women's World Cup in France? We'll see! Let me know if you have any ideas for sports-themed travel!

Vieques Beach Float - Kelsey Social
Bahia La Chiva, Vieques

I'm not sure how Puerto Rico was off my radar for so long. After I saw a few pictures of both the mountains and the beaches, I was set on going. I had hoped to celebrate my 28th birthday there, but plans fell through and the trip got pushed back to over July 4th weekend. Because I work full-time, I always try to travel during U.S. holidays in order to save my vacation days.

A few months after my visit, Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria causing destruction across the island. Now, cruise ports, airports, and hotels have reopened and tourism officials are encouraging travelers to visit. Staying at their hotels, eating at the restaurants, and buying from local businesses is a great way to support Puerto Rico... and I highly recommend it!

Below is my six-day itinerary (including two travel days) outlining how I spent my vacation in Puerto Rico. The islands are small but have a lot to explore from pristine beaches to tropical rainforests and the central mountains. Six days was a nice amount of time for a quick visit, but of course, I'd like to return to explore more.

Day 1: Fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico

Left Washington, D.C. in the morning and arrived in San Juan at noon. From D.C. to paradise in a quick 4-hour flight? Yes, please! We checked into the beautiful beachfront La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort and then went to grab some Mofongo (a Puerto Rican dish with mashed plantains) and daiquiris across the street at Orozco's. They have happy hour prices all day and the $3 rum punch will get you a quick little buzz if that's what you're after!

Condado beach outside the hotel is gorgeous - white sand with clear water. We drank Medalla beers in the sand until the sun went down and then hopped in one of the two infinity pools overlooking the beach.

Day 2: El Yunque + El Condado, San Juan

Woke up early to catch a 7 AM shuttle to the rainforest. We arranged our trip with Carabali to pick us up at the hotel and bring us to El Yunque National Rainforest for a 2-hour ATV ride. On the tour, we stopped to swim in the Mameyes River and then took another stop to drink fresh coconut water.

For dinner back in San Juan, we found the best spot: Vagon. It's a Mexican food truck with a fun outdoor patio. It's a no frills place with fast service and good food. Get the nachos! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in San Juan.

Day 3: Vieques

In the morning, we flew to Vieques Island from San Juan Isla Grande Airport with Vieques Air Link. Once in Vieques, we picked up our rental jeep from Island Car Rental and drove across the island to the town of Esperanza to check into Malecon House. They helped us load our car with beach gear and we hit the road to find good snorkeling at Blue Beach. We caught a great sunset at Punta Arenas (Green Beach) before heading back to town for dinner at one of the many beach bars along Calle Flamboyan.

[Pro tip: Order this giant inflatable flamingo that packs easily in your luggage. We had no trouble inflating it on the beach and I loved floating on it in the water!]

Day 4: Vieques

After a filling breakfast at the hotel, we ordered picnic lunches from Bananas and set out for a full day of off-roading to find the best beaches. And we weren't disappointed. Playuela, Caracas, Pata Prieta, Bahia La Chiva, and La Escondida were my favorites. That evening, we ordered delicious fish tacos from Lizzy's Lunchbox, a small food truck on the beach.

Day 5: Vieques + Old San Juan

We had our last delicious breakfast at Malecon House, checked out, and returned the jeep. The rental company drove us to the ferry port to catch our boat to Fajardo. Once in Fajardo, we had prearranged a ride to our next hotel: Courtyard San Juan Miramar. I have a Marriott Credit Card and used my yearly free night certificate for our stay. We chose this hotel to be close to Old San Juan and the airport.

For the afternoon, we wandered around Old San Juan to see the colorful buildings, El Morro, El Castillo de San Cristobal, and La Fortaleza. I wanted more mofongo so we found El Jibarito for dinner.

Day 6: Fly home

Before flying home from Luis Munoz Airport, we stopped in La Pradera for breakfast. The Mallorca sandwiches on sweet bread were delicious and the coffee was good - I ordered two cups of their café con leche.

I hope this itinerary helps with your planning or inspires you to book your trip. I plan to return to Puerto Rico in the next years and would love to hear any recommendations for my next visit!

The London Eye
Visiting the United Kingdom and Ireland is a very accessible trip from my home in Arlington, Virginia. A 7-hour direct flight to an English-speaking nation seems easy and comfortable, but yet I had never been to this part of Europe. Two friends and I decided to go, but it was difficult choosing which areas we wanted to spend our time in. In the end, we chose to get a small taste of three different countries and four cities, whichever we like best, we'll have to plan a visit to go back!

If you're looking for a possible itinerary, the information below might help with your planning! I'm sharing how I spent my ten days (including travel days) starting in London and stopping in Edinburgh before making it over to Ireland. I traveled Thursday evening until Saturday evening so I only needed take six days off of work.

Day 1: Fly to London

After a full day of work, I left in the evening from Washington National Airport (DCA) to fly to London Heathrow Airport.

Day 2: London

Arrived at Heathrow in the morning and met two friends. We checked into the Trafalgar Square St. James hotel then wandered around the city to see Big Ben, The London Eye, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace. We got drinks on Carnaby Street and had dinner in Kingly Court.

Day 3: London

Brunch at Sketch for the whimsical atmosphere (and must-see pod bathroom) followed by a walk along the River Thames with views of Tower Bridge. Worked up an appetite during the walk in order to get fish 'n chips and Pimm's Cups at Borough Market. Admired the colorful houses of the Primrose Hill neighborhood and grabbed a pint at a local pub before climbing the hill for sunset.

Rainbow Row of Notting Hill in London
Day 4: London + Fly to Edinburgh

Went to Notting Hill to check out the shops and eat brunch at Farm Girl. Wandered around the neighborhood and stumbled upon Rainbow Row. Took the tube to Shoreditch in search of street art and a lively atmosphere. Flew to Edinburgh from Gatwick Airport with British Airways in the evening. In Edinburgh, we stayed near the Royal Mile in this AirBnb.

Day 5: Edinburgh

Grabbed a quick coffee and hiked Arthur's Pass in the morning. It was a little more strenuous than expected and we rewarded ourselves with a traditional Scottish Breakfast afterward. Walked the Royal Mile and bought some souvenirs in the afternoon. Dinner at Monteith’s. Drinks at The World's End.

Day 6: Edinburgh

Walked towards Edinburgh Castle stopping at The Auld Hoose for good coffee and an enormous plate of vegan nachos. Saw the outside of the castle, but opted out of buying tickets and walked to Dean's Village instead. Then, took an Uber to Craigmillar Castle and had the place practically to ourselves.

Day 7: Fly to Shannon + Cliffs of Moher + Galway, Ireland

Flew from Edinburgh to Shannon, Ireland on Aer Lingus in the morning. Picked up a rental car at the airport and drove to the Cliffs of Moher. After visiting the Cliffs, we stopped for lunch in the small town of Lisdoonvarna and then drove along the (narrow, windy, a little scary) Wild Atlantic Way to get to Galway. We stayed at The Western Hotel in Galway.

Day 8: Galway + Dublin

Spent the morning in Galway. Ate brunch at the amazing Ard Bia at Nimmo's. Rainy/windy weather wasn't too inviting so we left Galway a little early to drive to Dublin. Dropped off the rental car at Dublin airport and took a taxi to downtown Dublin. We stayed at the Temple Bar Apartments  - it was nice to have a washer and dryer in the apartment building to do laundry and travel home with clean clothes! We explored the lively Temple Bar neighborhood and grabbed delicious cocktails and dinner at The Bull and Castle.

Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland
Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland
Day 9: Dublin

Breakfast at The Queen of Tarts. Toured the Guinness Storehouse - a must-visit in Dublin. The experience was better than I had expected and the rooftop bar has the best view of the city! Saw the Trinity College Campus and picnicked at St. Stephens Green with treats from The Rolling Donut. Dinner at The Winding Stair.

Day 10: Dublin + Fly home

Another stop at The Queen of Tarts for coffee and scones before taking an Uber to Dublin Airport for a morning flight home to Washington, D.C.

I hope this itinerary helps in your planning or inspires you to travel somewhere new! Please let me know what places I missed and where I should go on my next visit to England, Ireland or Scotland!

I had a goal in 2017 that I didn't share with too many people. That goal was to take a trip every month. I didn't define how far I had to go or if I needed to fly or leave the country, but I wanted to travel. For some people, this goal may sound easy, but I work a standard nine-to-five job with limited vacation days. During this particular year, I only traveled once for work (to San Antonio, Texas) and the rest of my travels were paid out of my pocket.

I like these recap posts to keep a personal record of my year and also look back on some of my favorite moments. As I write this, I'm thinking about 2018 and unsure if I want to keep traveling or instead slow down to focus on saving money... but I'm still undecided. Throughout 2017, I became more inspired by outdoor adventures rather than city getaways so I'm considering making that more of a priority. Definitely planning to spend my birthday camping on a mountain again! But for now, I'm reliving a travel-filled 2017 before looking ahead into the next year.

By the numbers: In 2017, I took 23 flights on 5 airlines. I saw 10 U.S. States (4 new ones for me), 5 countries, 1 U.S. territory, and 2 provinces of Canada. I slept in 15 different hotels, 4 AirBnBs, 2 tents, and spent multiple nights crashing with friends and family.

January [Chicago]
I kicked off my year of travel with a weekend trip to Chicago with friends. We braved the cold and spent a relaxing weekend with no set plans other than eating and drinking our way around the city. I still have a lot of Chicago to see and I'm looking forward to returning one day. Maybe in 2018 and maybe in slightly warmer weather.

(Another January highlight: ski weekend at Bryce Resort)

February [Breckenridge]
An annual ski trip with friends has become one of my favorite trips each year. For 2017, I rented a house in Breckenridge, Colorado for 18 of us. We could walk to the gondola to hit the slopes for the day and at night, we soaked in our hot tub and strolled into town to visit local bars. I loved Breckenridge so much that I'm already planning a trip back in 2018! Read more about my annual snowboarding trips: 2017, 2016, 2015.
(Another February highlight: hiking Raven Rocks)

March [New Orleans]
After a short work trip to New Orleans in 2016, I knew I'd be back soon for a long weekend visit. I traveled with two friends and it was a great escape from the cold spring in DC to warm Louisiana. We ate, drank, biked, and danced... a lot. And I left Nola feeling fulfilled and gluttonous.
(Other March highlights: visiting the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors at the Hirshhorn Museum, cutting off 12 inches of hair, and meeting The Points Guy)

April [Camping on the Appalachian Trail]
I had hoped to spend my 28th birthday in Puerto Rico but when flights didn't work out, I planned a backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail with my boyfriend Mike. We drove down to Roanoke, Virginia to hike and camp at McAfee Knob. Celebrating my birthday with a rewarding hike and a Zebra Cake at the top may turn into my new birthday tradition.
(Another April highlight: seeing the DC Cherry Blossoms)

May [Lake Anna]
With bigger trips coming up in the summertime, I kept May simple and spent Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Anna in Virginia. Mike's dad has a house at the lake and we love to visit in warm weather. Some of my favorite memories from that weekend were jet skiing to a secluded island to set up my hammock, riding to lunch in the pontoon boat, and biking to the docks to catch a sunset.
(Another May highlight: going to my first IGDC event and finally meeting some Instagram friends in real life)

June [San Francisco]
My friend Pam had a wedding to attend in San Fransisco so she invited me to tag along and make a weekend out of it. We crammed a lot into that weekend and didn't even complete our to-do list, so I feel pretty confident that I'll be back soon to explore more. I love cities that have mountain skylines and San Fran not only has mountains but also the beach. I'm looking forward to returning in 2018 or 2019.
(Other June highlights: visiting some Virginia wineries and hiking Difficult Run)

July [Puerto Rico]
Puerto Rico didn't work out for my birthday but it made a perfect trip for the July 4th holiday! Mike and I began the trip in San Juan before taking a small plane to Vieques Island. We fell hard for Vieques. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for us. We rented a jeep to explore private beaches and snorkel in clear water. While this island got hit hard by Hurricane Maria, they are in the process of rebuilding and I highly recommend visiting!
(Other July highlights: a work trip to San Antonio, another trip to Lake Anna with friends, and visiting the sunflower fields in Maryland)

August [England, Ireland & Scotland]
For my biggest trip of the year, I traveled abroad with my friends Shannon and Pam (these two have become my "yes" friends and are always eager to travel). We visited England, Scotland, and Ireland. This was my first time in the U.K. and we wanted to get a small taste of a few different parts. London, Edinburgh, the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, and Dublin were the main stops. I was so happy to finally see these countries! Next time I return, I'll drive through more of the countryside and avoid the big cities.
(Another August highlight: biking around DC and Arlington)

September [Shenandoah National Park]
For Labor Day weekend, Mike and I conquered another backpacking trip in Shenandoah National Park. This time, we hiked to Bear Church Rock and camped for the night. This was a tough hike in the September heat, but a good one. To me, Labor Day marks the end of the summer and it's nice to complete the season with some time in the woods.
(Other September highlights: going to my first Wanderlust108 Festival and attending Pineapple Camp by Pineapple Collaborative)

October [Canada]
My most unique trip of the year was traveling Canada for five days with my dad and brother to see our favorite hockey team play abroad. We followed the Washington Capitals to games in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. We explored the cities during the days and went to the games at night. The Caps only won one of three games but it was still a great experience. My favorite part of the trip was our final day in Banff, Alberta.
(Other October highlights: planning/attending my 10-Year High School Reunion and reconnecting with old friends)

November [Rhode Island]
In November, I was happy to make Rhode Island my 23rd state. One of my best friends from college has been busy with med school for the past few years, so when she matched with a hospital in Providence for residency, Shannon and I planned a trip to visit. Because Rhode Island is so small, we were able to visit Providence, Newport and some stops in between. We're hoping to make it back for another girls trip next spring or summer!
(Other November highlights: seeing Book of Mormon and Mean Girls the Musical, hosting my best friend's baby shower, and ending the month with ankle surgery!)

December [Ankle Surgery]
As much as I wanted to complete my resolution of a trip a month, my body had other plans for December. A soccer injury from the summer turned into a greater problem. I spent the majority of September and October in a boot, then had physical therapy throughout November to prepare for my surgery. The first few weeks of December I was in a cast, on crutches, and teleworking from my parents' house in Manassas, Virginia (sorry, no photos. These weren't my most photogenic days). My mobility was more limited than anticipated so I wasn't able to make the trip to New York City I had planned. Luckily, I was out of the cast by mid-December and my final day in the boot was on Christmas.

I don't feel like I failed at my resolution. Especially after writing this recap and reminiscing about all the things I've done in 2017. I'm looking forward to more rehab sessions in January and hoping to get back to hiking, biking, soccer, and snowboarding by February (fingers crossed)!

San Francisco is a city that had been on my list for a long time, but I never had the right opportunity to visit. That is until a friend asked me to tag along with her to a wedding. On my first visit, I quickly learned that San Fransisco is larger than I imagined with many diverse neighborhoods and a lot to see, do, and eat (of course)!

Read on for some of my favorite activities in this weekend guide to San Francisco!

Grab Breakfast at a Cute Cafe

Where to get coffee and breakfast is usually high on my priority list when visiting new places. I hardly ever buy coffee when I'm at home, so I like to treat myself on travels. Cafe Reveille was the perfect spot for my first San Francisco breakfast.  The acai bowl and matcha latte were my favorites.

I discovered Home Cafe's Birthday Cake Lattes on Instagram and knew I'd be making a stop on my San Fran visit. The lattes were gorgeous and super sweet (beware!) but the decor and service were also great. We stopped here for a caffeine break before walking down the street to the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps.

Catch the Best Views of the Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is the must-see iconic landmark of San Francisco. The best views come from the Marin Headlands in Sausalito. You can catch an uber across the bridge or rent a bike. Once in Sausalito, we hiked down to Kirby Cove to play on the beach and catch great views of the bridge and the bay.

To get to Kirby Cove, you can start at Battery Spencer. With Battery Spencer on your left, walk shortly past it looking for a sign with directions to Kirby Cove. It's about a mile walk downhill.

Enjoy the Colorful Mission District

With so much to see and eat in the Mission District, it's hard to tackle it all on your own. Booking an Avital Food Tour was the best idea. By taking the food tour, we were able to sample a few things from some of the best restaurants while also learning some of the neighborhood history. My favorites from the tour were the pork belly breakfast taco at West of Pecos and salted caramel ice cream from Bi-Rite Creamery.

I also enjoyed seeing Mission Street's famous street art and perusing the aisles of Bi-Rite Market after admiring the fresh bouquets out front. I highly reccomend making a stop at Mission Dolores Park to relax in the sunshine if you have time.

Visit the Must-See Sights

There are so many landmarks to see in San Fransisco that it's hard to hit them all in one weekend. On the way to the Marin Headlands, our Lyft driver made a quick stop at the famous Lombard Street: the “Crookedest Street in the World." We drove down it and then walked around at the bottom. You don't need to spend much time here, but it's definitely something to see.

San Fran is filled with beautiful Victorian houses. I loved wandering the streets and imagining who the people are who live in these homes. A must-visit is Alamo Square Park to see the Painted Ladies on Steiner Street. Walking further down Steiner Street you'll also find more Victorians as well as the house from Mrs. Doubtfire.

The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps are a community project in the San Francisco's Golden Gate Heights Neighborhood. The colorfully tiled steps are a fun stop to visit after grabbing at latte a Home Cafe (mentioned above). You can climb the 163 steps to Grandview Park for a nice view of the city.

Treat Yourself in Little Italy

Everyone mentions San Fran's Chinatown, the largest Chinatown outside of Asia, but Little Italy sits beside it and is also worth a visit. For dinner, try Sotto Mare for great Italian-style seafood. Order the sand dabs as an appetizer.

After dinner, treat yourself to a cappuccino and biscotti or gelato at one of the many nearby cafes. Cafe Grecco or Stella's.

On my next visit to San Fransisco, I'd like to visit Leo's Oyster Bar and hike along Lands End Coastal Trail to Mile Rock Beach and Lands End Labyrinth. What else do you suggest?
